So ends a great run of a computer's operating system. The XP on my home PC had been installed over 3 years with little or no problems, a truly great run considering all the "additional" programs I run occasionally, and then overnight the hard drive decided it wouldn't read and died. I had Linux riding shotgun on the boot sector but I believe this failure to be hardware related. The screenshot above shows the opening screen of the Windows 7 Beta and I believe this to be the best OS that Windows has put out since Windows 2000 pulled me away from Win 95 and the wonderful world of DOS.
