Boat names are notorious for their play on words. One that caught our eye this past weekend was the aptly named Byrd Ketcher. I assume that the "Byrd" is the last name of the owners and the sailing vessel is a "ketch". Another assumption is that the owner(s) has an affinity for old Warner Brother cartoons---but I'm just guessing on that one.

HPFC,
ReplyDeleteYou are exactly correct in ALL of your assumptions. It is my last name as well as a play on the word ketch as it is ketch rigged. I have always been a fan of the old WB cartoons and I felt this graphic aptly portrayed the "play on words."
What you may find interesting is how we found this posting. We were bareboat chartering in the BVI's and researching names on many of the yachts we observed in our travels and somehow my wife fell into this.
